Contemporary Farm

This home was built to capture the views of the mountains and the citrus orchards. Pine beams, plaster walls and colored concrete floors were used to give the home an indoor outdoor atmosphere. Bedroom and bathrooms composed of antiques, such as iron beds, claw foot bath fixtures and old California furniture. 1920’s antique lighting sconces and lanterns replicas create an old barn affect. Natural textiles, Navajo rugs, California Pottery throughout the home.

Hidden Hills

1970’s family home surrounded by steep hillside and re-designed for entertainment and relaxation. Organic flagstone surrounds new pool and hand cut coping blends patio and pool. The plant pallet is olive, citrus, native grasses and shrubs. New stucco and eves replaced dated exterior. Special attention was given to procurement of outdoor furniture.

Ojai Creek Road

Ojai historic property completely re-built for active family fun, entertainment and privacy. The two-acre property was lined with native trees and the addition of drought tolerant plants. Recycled concrete slabs and gravel form walk ways and paths. Native grass lawn surround large lap pool that serves dual purpose for children with a reed area and Jacuzzi. Covered outdoor kitchen contains fireplace, barbecue and keg refrigerator.

Ultra formal garden

Beverly Hills Estate

Ultra formal gardens are separated by fountains and museum quality sculptures. Outdoor living spaces are created to give intimacy. Large native California tress are situated to afford the utmost in privacy.

West Hollywood Spanish

A small front yard was transformed in a spa getaway. The sunken stone lined pool area is shielded by massive hedging from a crowded Los Angeles neighborhood. Landscape color and fountain sounds offer total escape.

Ojai East End Estate

From a central grove of towering native oaks, stone paths meander through areas of wildflowers, rosemary, drought tolerant succulents, orchards and a newly planted dwarf pine forest with WPA era-inspired stone accents.

Ojai Bungalow

Two outdoor living spaces increase the size of this quaint california bungalow. Edible gardens and a DG path give structure while cork oaks offer beauty and privacy from neighbors.

Montecito Ranch House

Montecito Ranch House and CottageColor matched fences that replicate the house wall to create privacy and elegance. Calming pool and spa to replace lawn, with solar panels to heat the pool and spa. Hardscape with native grasses to unify drought tolerant plantings and earth tone color scheme.

Mid-Century Modern

A double-sided outdoor fireplace creates two outdoor living spaces, which share a reflecting pool and custom fountain. In the front, a low horizontal fence delineates the space while mature native citrus and oak tress provide height and color.

Bel Air Modern

The random shapes of california native succulents contrast with the rectangular lines of the house. A citrus and pomegranate grove provide spatial division to the hillside while a stand of Ginkos give a shimmering aspect.

Downtown Ojai Residence

A drought tolerant surround, virtually maintenance free, with winding gravel paths, with large flagstone accents and water elements to soften and calm. Opened entrance with large pavers leading to wide steps. Painted whole house white to unify and give a farmhouse-like feel. Changed art studio to guest quarters with a dedicated, private, patio that still flows into the rest of the house.

Venice Bungalow

Craftsman Boutique

Stone walkways, a water fountain, native California sage, boxwood and citrus trees offer a welcoming entrance to the Ojai boutique. California pottery and outdoor furniture adorn the wrap around porch.

Terri Laine Oak View Home

Redwood trees define the perimeter of the front garden. Client was originally from Northern Arizona and wanted a drought tolerant garden. The choice of stone work and planting tied them all together.

Santa Barbara

Downtown Studio Interior

The goal for the interior of this 740 square foot open plan studio was to to create both an elegant and casual sanctuary. In addition, it was necessary for the space to feel spacious. This was accomplished through careful choice of handprinted textiles, linen upholstery, Moroccan rugs, Belgian linen drapes and Asian style Roman blinds. The details include old California pottery and Japanese Tansu chests paired with custom antique Spanish lighting. The artwork was done by local artist.
